xcode for Snow Leopard 10.6.viii

Hello,

I don't have my new Mac nonetheless so am looking for xcode for snowfall leopard x.six.8. I read that I want xcode iv.2 but that only appears for King of beasts. Do I actually desire "Xcode 3.2.five and iOS SDK iv.2" which is available and will that work with LiveCode? FYI - I take a paid dev business relationship (I've read that xcode 4.2 is non free like all other versions).

Cheers for your help!

Thanks, but I withal need to know which version will work on snow leopard OSX 10.six.8...

LiveCode ready-up says:
When running on Snow Leopard, LiveCode uses the iOS 5.0 SDK to produce device builds. This is available as part of Xcode 4.2.
The iv.3 and 5.0 simulators are supported on Snow Leopard.

apple lists iv.1 through 4.3.3 for Lion, and 3.10 versions for snowfall leopard...

tnx

I discovered in an Apple Dev Forum that you accept to exist both a paid iOS dev and a paid OSX dev to see the download link.

No, that is definitely not true. You *do* take to have registered an Apple ID, and you do have to set up a link to a credit card account as part of the process, but information technology's not necessary for any money to change hands. The XCode download is gratuitous from Apple, although yous have to do a *lot* of searching effectually the dev site to come up with previous versions.

I'grand not at my Snow Leopard car at the moment, merely afterward I tin can bank check which version of XCode is running on it.

While an estimated 19% of Mac users are still using Snow Leopard, it may be worth noting that Apple appears to have stopped providing security updates for it, suggesting the need to movement forward to later versions:

I'm not sure that's entirely relevant: my former mac mini (the 1 that's running Snow Leopard) has a 32-bit Intel processor and so its upgrade path is quite express. Our mac air and macbook pro are upgraded to 10.9, but the mini will never go there. And so I accept dissimilar versions of Xcode on the different macs.

That seems to exist a key reason so many even so use SL, which is why so many news sites accept been far more, shall we say, "expressive" than Ars about the seeming abandonment of such a large portion of the Mac user base.

I merely mention it for those who go on their older Macs connected to the Net. Like XP soon, it may be safer to move such machines to LAN-only for testing.

No, that is definitely not truthful. From what I've read on diverse forums, I understand that 4.2 was the version where Apple decided to start charging for Xcode only then quickly reversed their decision. So versions prior to and after 4.2 are free. There are many posts past people not being able to see this version until they have a paid Dev account. Try logging in to the dev middle with an Apple ID that does not take a paid account - I'll bet you a beer that the download is not available.

Cool. Beer.

I missed the part where y'all were looking for simply Xcode 4.2. At any rate they're all available for download from developer.apple tree.com (yes, without a paid Apple dev account, because I refuse to do that), fifty-fifty four.2, although 4.2 does say that it's for King of beasts. The most recent Xcode version that Apple tree specifically says is for Snowfall Leopard is 3.2.6. That's if you take Apple'due south word for it.
